Ok Tedi Mine - Dumping Waste

Dead rock and ore is removed by giant trucks, that load 150 tons in a haul, shoveled across the edge into the valleys of Sulphide Creek/Ok Mabiong to the north, or into Ok Mani to the south. Because of heavy rainfall, the creeks and rivers are powerful enough, to transport even coarse material downstream - 120,000 tons a day.
